This video tells the story behind the “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster, from its WWII origins to its rediscovery in a bookshop (Barter Books) in England in 2000. Even though this poster has been trivialized and parodied to death in the design industry, I’m not ashamed to say I’ll never get tired of it. It has a special significance to me ever since a friend handed me a “Keep Calm and Carry On” related book of quotes at a time when I wasn’t exactly at my best. I think it’s fascinating how a phrase meant for another era still has so much resonance now.

Later this year I’ll be visiting England with my boyfriend who’s British and after watching this video, we’ll definitely be stopping by Barter Books!
