The color of this mirror makes me think of the creamsicles I used to eat as a kid on a hot summer day.

I’ve always had a thing for doors…
in photography and even as decor pieces inside the home. Not to mention the countless ways they can be repurposed.

Changing the color of your front door (as in the first photo) can entirely transform the look of your home’s exterior.

Color Block Me
Color blocking is a trend that’s recently stepped off the fashion runway and into the home. It consists of using bold opposites on the color wheel and combining them to create the widest contrast possible. I’ve always loved “mod” fashion and was excited to see this trend popping up on the home decor scene.

Trends we’re loving…
Neon: What a Bright Idea!
Although neon is a very popular decorating trend right now, you don’t have to go all 80’s on us to incorporate it into your home. The look this time around is much more subtle as it involves pops of neon color through select pieces of furniture and accessories. Take a look at how unexpected touches of neon can brighten up a dull room.

The case for the spindle chair
Take a cue from grandma. The classic spindle chair, painted in a bright color, can add character to any room. They look great in corners, as night stands, or as dining chairs. You can even swap your generic office chair for one of these to give your work space some instant style.

Black and Gold—A Match Made in Color Heaven
‘Black: dark, mysterious, uncompromising. Gold: brilliant, lovely, attention-seeking. Somehow they’re a match made in color heaven.’

Turn your interiors up a notch: Colorful doors on the inside
I’ve already posted about my obsession with doors and entryways but a recent client got me thinking about doors on the inside. His home is divided in such a way that there are numerous glass-paneled interior doors. The overall style of the home up to now is quite streamlined and neutral, so we were thinking of painting some of the doors in bright bold colors to contrast, but still keep the look clean. Here are some images that are part of my brainstorm…
