Wooden mirror painted in black gloss. Has a great gothic, fairy tale feel to it. We think it’ll fit with the Alice in Wonderland meets backstage dressing room vibe we want in our eventual boutique.

What an amazing display idea! Boutique Ten Over Six in L.A. With the amount of vintage wooden chairs we’ve accumulated this would be very doable. We’re honestly starting to feel like hoarders.

Love the contrast between the rough textured wall and the feminine accessories.
Industrial + ornate decor = winning design combination

This video tells the story behind the “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster, from its WWII origins to its rediscovery in a bookshop (Barter Books) in England in 2000. Even though this poster has been trivialized and parodied to death in the design industry, I’m not ashamed to say I’ll never get tired of it. It has a special significance to me ever since a friend handed me a “Keep Calm and Carry On” related book of quotes at a time when I wasn’t exactly at my best. I think it’s fascinating how a phrase meant for another era still has so much resonance now.
Later this year I’ll be visiting England with my boyfriend who’s British and after watching this video, we’ll definitely be stopping by Barter Books!

1st attempt necklace holder we made yesterday, using wood and vintage glass door knobs. Prettier pictures of it displayed to come!

A plateful of love!
These adorable plates are designed by Mrs Peterson Pottery. All her products are handmade and range from ceramics to porcelain jewellery to homewares. We loved this Australian shop so much that we will be carrying its designs at lili&gen! What’s more exciting is that Montreal will be a first for Mrs Peterson Pottery!
